The Heights of Abraham offers stunning views and a wonderful experience for nature and history lovers alike. The highlight of my visit was definitely the Masson Cavern tour, where the guide, "Other Steve," truly stood out. His knowledge and enthusiasm made the tour both fun and informative, and I could tell he really loved sharing the history of the caves. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting the area—it's an unforgettable adventure!

I visited with my family on a weekend, and we had a fantastic time. Just a heads-up—parking primarily requires cash, so it's a good idea to have some coins on hand. The caverns, cable car ride, and tower views were all exhilarating and definitely worth the visit. We spent about 4-5 hours enjoying all the activities, and the wait times for the cavern tours weren't too long. The area is pet-friendly and there are decent dining options available as well. Overall, it was a great experience!

Early morning arrival is a must if you want to park in the nearest carparks. It will be a struggle to park otherwise. It's an interesting place for young kids as it has a cable car, a cave, decent hike downhill if you prefer coming down by foot, a puppet show (keeping the name secret so not to spoil the fun ☺️) and an amazing scenery. The only advice, please bring your own food if your kids are like mine, hungry all the time when outside the house!!

Starting with an amazing `Heights of Abraham' cable cars and exploring the caverns felt like walking through nature's own cathedral, shaped over millennia. Every twist and turn revealed new wonders, and I couldn't help but marvel at the intricate beauty of this underground masterpiece. One in a lifetime experience ✨️

A wonderful experience made better by great service throughout. This was planned for Sunday but due to weather forecast of high winds, we actually visited on Saturday. As it was surprise this was a bit of a panic - due to taxis and family meeting us etc. The cable car was a real joy and great fun. We booked a table at the Vista restaurant -which was lovely and they even provided a birthday card and complimentary brownie ! We didn’t explore the caves as one of our family is on crutches. But we enjoyed the views and our time at the heights. Jess and the team were so helpful and forthcoming - stopping the cable car for boarding, and offering assistance with a smile Genuinely lovely team.

Had such a wonderful time here with my husband - would (and will) absolutely visit again. 10 out of 10! Special mention for Tour guide Andi as I am heavily pregnant and found reaching the caves a struggle (If your fit as a fiddle you will be fine but I'm having some mobility issues in later pregnancy) I wanted to do at least one of the cave tours but it was a 30 minute walk underground with 150+ upward steps and I was already tired and in some discomfort so Andi took me and my husband on a mini tour of the first chamber so I didn't miss out on seeing some of the cave. We can't thank her enough ❤️ she really went the extra mile for me and made the day feel really special.

The Heights of Abraham is a must-visit for families looking for a fun-filled day out. From the moment you step into the cable car, you're transported to a world of adventure and stunning scenery. The ride itself is a highlight, offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. At the top, there's something for everyone. We explored the fascinating caves, which were both educational and exciting for the kids including lights and lazer show. The play areas are a great place for children to burn off some energy, while the cafes offer a welcome break and delicious food. But the real star of the show is the view. From the top, you can see for miles in every direction. It's a truly breathtaking sight that will leave you feeling inspired.

The place is stunning. There's a lot to learn about the town and the area when you go and join the cave tours. The ride on the cable car, awesome view from the tower and the quaint town of Matlock itself is just awesome.

Note visited as part of "Lights of Abraham" Bought tickets in advance, and the event was pretty busy. Had to wait around 20 minutes for the cable car both ways. The light and the trail was amazing - lots of great music and light shows around. Favourite part was the light animals (foxes, herons, rabbits etc). Would like to visit the cable car in the day as part of the "normal" admission. But for a special "festive" event (through December) it's worth the £20 admission.

We bought tickets in advance, inclines once at the top, plenty of walking involved. Restaurant was overpriced for basic food. Cave tour was interesting and staff were pleasant

Beside the fact that we had rain on the night, the whole experience was extremely disappointing!!! Nothing like the advertising showing magical place - we based our decision on!!! Basic light show (a lot of the space left in the dark and not utilised or decorated with anything!), no atmosphere, no exceptional event, hardly any visitors - a quick walk around a park that cost a fortune for a fam of 4!!! Use your money wisely elsewhere and you will have more fun and actually create a memory! Here, none of that happened for us, sadly! :(. My children were quite upset and deflated! Love Heights os Abraham in the summer, but NOT this!

Really enjoyed our evening here. The staff and customer service is excellent. We had a mini emergency travelling to the lights of Abraham which meant we could not attend. I requested if possible we could move the booking to the next day. The staff kindly changed it and had no issues when scanning our barcode the following day. Lovely place, and would love to return in the summer to see what's to offer!

Went here on their Lights of Abraham thing. What an absolute rip off. Not that many lights / displays, none of the normal things eg. Tower / cave etc are open. Just a short walk round a few lights that aren't arent particularly impressive - not much more than 20mins and you're done. Over £60 for a family of 4. A sting really.

We went to the Lights of Abraham which is a Christmas light trail new for 2024. The whole experience was really magical starting with a cable car trip over Matlock Bath at night. The staff were all really friendly and helpful greeting us at every opportunity. The light trail was one of the best we have seen in this area, my Dad thought it was his favourite ever. I would really recommend a trip here this year as a seasonal treat.

Staff are clearly passionate about the attraction and happy to be there. Visited for the "Lights of Abraham" Christmas event and had a fantastic time, it was a comfortable crowd level with places to get a snack open. Really enjoyed the entire visit and look forward to returning to see the caverns.
